Swiss & International VAT update 2019 - breakfast events in Zurich or Geneva - Tax and Legal blog

Header blog post

The breakfast events "Swiss & International VAT update 2019" took place on Tuesday, 12 November 2019, in Zurich and Wednesday, 13 November 2019 in Geneva.

The VAT landscape and requirements for VAT professionals are constantly changing resulting in unknowns and uncertainties. Getting VAT wrong can greatly impact your organisation, in terms of additional costs, stiff penalties imposed by the authorities or missed opportunities to simplify.

These events will share our latest experience with Tax Authorities and provide an update about new developments, upcoming changes, and discussions regarding:

  • Overview of recent and upcoming EU and international VAT / GST changes affecting companies operating outside Switzerland including the impact of the EU VAT Quick Fixes as of January 2020 as well as the planned virtual market place rules in the EU vs. the Swiss VAT rules (“small consignment stock rule / “Versandhandelsregelung” / “petits envois”), CJEU Case Law)
  • Overview of recent Swiss VAT changes covering notably the latest VAT guidelines, e-filling / “Décompte TVA easy” / “MWST-Abrechnung easy” as well as learnings from recent VAT audits

Agenda:

08:00 - 08:30 Arrival, registration and welcome breakfast

08:30 - 10:00 Presentation - Q&A session

10:00 - 10:30 Networking coffee
