Join us: on the 9th of November 2023 in Geneva at the BSCC event on Nature-related risks and Nature-based investment solutions
This important event builds on the memorable visit last year to the BSCC Geneva Chapter of Patrick Odier, Chair of Building Bridges, by demonstrating how nature-focused mindset and business are becoming mainstream.
In alignment with the ethos of Building Bridges, the BSCC Geneva Chapter invites Stewart Maginnis, Deputy Director General of IUCN, to add his expertise on the investment opportunities that are critical to reversing current biodiversity degradation and climate change.
In 2020, WEF research found that $44 trillion of economic value is moderately or highly dependent on nature and its services. New research suggests this crisis is deepening, with 55% of the world’s GDP – equivalent to $58 trillion – exposed to material risk without immediate action.
With reflections on the September 2023 release of the ‘Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures’ risk management and disclosure framework, this double-header of Patrick Odier and Stewart Maginnis will underline how important it is that we take note of recent research which finds that 85% of the world’s largest companies, making up S&P Global 1200, have a significant dependency on nature across their direct operations.
Businesses and financial institutions need help gaining the knowledge, capacity, data, and deep analytics to understand, manage and disclose the nature-related risks they face, and the opportunities that exist to invest in nature-based solutions.
These new themes, never-before addressed at a BSCC Geneva Chapter event, will be on the agenda.
This event, of outstanding quality, is one you cannot afford to miss!
